The Room is ready — a cool, safe space for our most fragile cats
Good morning — and what an exciting day for us! After months of planning, fundraising and major work in this unbearable heat, the area we call The Room (our “kittygarten”) is finally ready.
On top of that, the roof of our shaded area has been replaced. The old metal roof cooled to freezing in winter and turned the space with the chicken coop and cages into a scorching inferno in summer. Now our cats have somewhere that stays liveable all year round.
We want to say a massive thank you to our project manager Natushka Kalantzis for making this happen, and to Stavros Dimisianos for organising the building crew, installing all the electrics and so much more.
Our team also wants to thank everyone who contributed. There were so many of you that we can only mention a few — but we are so grateful to each and every one: a massive thank you to Tim, John Gulas, Arthur, Rebeca and Mark, Sulou Ha, Daphne Forte, Hans Heidendal, and everyone who refused to let our most fragile, blind, small or handicapped cats keep living with mouldy walls and a leaking roof.
We are so lucky to have so many wonderful and caring friends.
We still have to settle the rest of the bills, so you can still contribute — and no donation is too small.
