Mommy Jezzie would like to say goodbye, and good luck, to the fourth of her babies leaving for a home abroad — Pixie! They are the spitting image of each other.

They say your pet will never hurt you. It isn't true. It will hurt you deeply when they die…

This one hit us hard. Just yesterday, I said that no matter how much we love each of our furbabies, there will always be a few special ones — those we fought for, those who were fragile, sick, who needed extra love and extra care and were just different, those who seemed to live in between this world and the other.

Our Pixie was amazing. Loved by each of us, and by the family who did everything humanly possible to save her, to heal her, to make her strong and beautiful and happy. She was loved from near and far by so many. She travelled to her loving home and began her new, happy life… she was happy. She was so, so loved.

… and then we lost her. Suddenly and unexpectedly, she didn't wake up after a routine surgery. She left us with broken hearts, and her owners in an abyss of pain. Not fair — this is just so not fair, after everything she had been through.

We all hurt today.

RIP Pixoula. We will always love you.
