Azor, our gentle wobbly boy

The black cat who lives in the catio with all the kittens is Azor. He is almost one year old, but he can’t go outside and play with his friends, because it isn’t a safe place for a wobbly baby — a cat with neurological issues.

On top of that, he has a severe chronic flu that, until now, we have failed to find a solution for.

Today our gentle, kind little man is at the clinic with bad pneumonia — the illness plaguing the shelter this summer — along with a bad ear infection, suspected encephalitis, and pancreatitis as a cherry on top.

We try so hard to keep them safe. Azor has always been kept confined so he wouldn’t run into the street, or fall, or hurt himself — but there are things we simply cannot protect them from, and it breaks our hearts.
