Her story

Our queen — and so much more than her connections.

Natushka is our queen, and that pretty much says it all. After doing an absolutely fantastic job with our shelter renovations, she has now been promoted to Project Manager — at least according to our inside joke.

Being part British and part Greek, Natushka has a foot in both worlds. She knows everyone, and everyone knows her. Many of her friends have adopted cats from us or helped our cause in one way or another. She promotes Cemetery Cats like no one else. Having someone who knows the right people is incredibly valuable to us — but Natushka is so much more than her connections.

She is a hands-on, extremely dedicated and fiercely loyal person. She is always eager to learn, never says no to a difficult task, and is an amazing team player. Very often, she is also the sounding board — and unofficial therapist — for all of us, whether she wants the job or not. And, of course, like all our volunteers, she absolutely adores our babies.

Natushka joined us back when we still had a Kittygarten away from the shelter, where we kept our most vulnerable cats safe. Our adoption rate back then was around 90%, and she herself has adopted several of our furry babies.

Today, Natushka is our voice of reason. New volunteers look up to her, the kittens adore her because she secretly spoils them just a little bit more than everyone else, and she is the kind of woman who somehow shatters the stereotype of the crazy cat lady completely. She is smart, capable, connected, practical, funny, fiercely committed — and somehow always ready to take on one more thing. We are incredibly lucky to have our queen on the team.
