Lady’s royal Happy Ever After
An early good night — and this one comes from our Lady, who now lives her royal Happy Ever After in the UK. 👑
Lady is the only cat who survived after the Paleokastritsa monastery colony — fully sterilised, vaccinated and fed by daily volunteers — simply vanished within a few days under new “management”.
She is our miracle girl, and our hope to keep fighting for the rest. Below, her adopter Becky shares Lady’s story in her own words.
In her adopter’s words
Lady came to us from Cemetery Cats in March 2024, after we spotted her on the Facebook page. We had only recently lost our family cat and weren’t looking for another, but something clicked when I saw her ragged little ears.
We didn’t know it at the time, but this young girl was a survivor. Born into the Paleokastritsa Monastery colony, she was taken in by rescuers to treat her cancerous ears. While in surgery, she escaped a mass poisoning that wiped out the rest of her colony family.
Despite this difficult start she’s extremely sweet, completely shameless about demanding affection, and very loud about it. There is nothing she likes more than a cardboard box in the sunshine, and when she isn’t patrolling the garden boundary, she’s on the front doorstep. Our neighbours, posties and delivery drivers are always talking to ‘the lovely little white cat’.
It took some planning and logistics to get Lady to us, but she’s the best decision we made and fully worth the effort. We can’t thank Indre and the team enough for getting this gorgeous girl to us.
