Once family, always family.

Some people might leave the country, but they never really leave the “family.” It is one of our inside jokes, and yet, as we always say, our shelter is not a place — it is the people and the cats.

Gillian is a proper Scottish lady with a sunny Greek heart. After a few years with us, she returned home to “sunny” Scotland to be closer to her children and grandchildren — but she is still very much part of us, and with us through all our daily struggles. She comes back to visit and volunteer, and a couple of times a year she even turns up for the very glamorous job of deep-cleaning absolutely everything.

We suppose that once you become part of our cat family, there is no real way out. You can move countries, you can go home, you can pretend you have escaped… but the cats know where you live.

Cat family is a bit like a mafia — you can get in, but you can never get out. And we would not have it any other way. 💛
