Her story

So much gentleness in a strong woman.

We do often repeat — we don’t need 100 new volunteers, we need two or three. And even more often, we say how perfect it would be to clone just a couple of ours, as they are so invaluable.

And then someone new comes along and proves to us that we needed someone different, someone who can bring something new. And Eva brings a lot of I CAN!!!

And then writing the most beautiful messages about those who left — either for new homes, or across the Rainbow Bridge. Eva is our newest arrival, and somehow, miraculously, she stuck, she stayed, and she became part of our tribe.

She doesn’t cancel her shift if her back hurts and she cannot bend to clean the bottom cages — she invents a way to do it. She will come running to get a sick or poorly cat to an emergency appointment, still dripping after her swim or in her sleeping gown — as time is often of the essence.

There is so much gentleness in this strong woman, and we admire her persistence and her love for our babies.
