Their story
Two blind sisters, one shared home.
Candy & Gypsy can only be adopted together — they are bonded sisters.
These two blind sisters were found living by a busy street in Corfu Town, both heavily pregnant. Nature did not care how two blind stray mothers would be able to provide for their little ones. Kind people fed them, but they were frightened, wild and difficult to catch. Eventually, we managed to rescue them. They were sterilised and moved into a little house with our kittens.
It took Candy a very long time to start trusting us, but she has made wonderful progress. She loves other cats, especially kittens, and is happiest when she has a cosy bed and a good meal.
We would love for the sisters to be adopted together because, unfortunately, Gypsy is still very, very shy. She prefers to avoid people and feels safest in her little crib. Like her sister, she cannot spend her whole life in one small room.
We dream of finding them a loving indoor home together — but it would need to be with a kind, gentle person in a quiet household, someone with enough patience to let Gypsy slowly learn to trust life again.
Apart from being completely blind, both girls are healthy and on the smaller side. We know it is much easier to find a home for a healthy, bubbly kitten than for two blind ladies of around two years of age. But we choose to believe in miracles, and we hope there is a truly special home waiting for our sweet girls — because life has already been unfair to them for far too long.
