Aldo, our brave little angel

Aldo arrived at our shelter when he was about seven months old, with a broken back leg. He spent a month in a cage on painkillers while his leg healed, and then he was finally able to join the outdoor tribe.

Sadly, he didn’t get to enjoy that freedom for very long.

It is heartbreaking to see our little ones develop neurological symptoms, which are sadly common in a sanctuary like ours. With humid, windy winters, hot and humid summers, and so many cats living together, chronic respiratory infections take their toll — some cats have constant runny noses, some develop ear polyps that cause wobbliness and loss of balance, others develop pneumonia.

Most recover with treatment. But Aldo is struggling. He has had many vet visits, and for now the treatment is helping, though not completely. This boy is a real angel — he has been with us for almost a year, and through all of it he has stayed wonderfully kind and cuddly.

Aldo now lives in the Chicken Coop with our other patients. He eagerly waits for any human to come and spend time with him — and he still gives us scares, when his condition suddenly worsens and we have to rush him to the clinic.

His vet bills are mounting as we try different treatments and tests to find the best way to help him. After everything this little boy has already been through, it feels so unfair that he now has to struggle with this too.

If you could sponsor this amazing little man, you would help us continue his treatment, veterinary care and all the tests he needs — and Aldo would know that someone out there cares about him.
